March 2024
Spring Night Sail

While the evenings  were still dark, we set out some buildings and docks in the pond, illuminated with LEDs. This were ideal for sailing our boats, also adorned with lights, around. As well as the nice display of illuminated boats on the pond as the sun went down, we set out a noticeboard and colouring pencils, inviting anyone to draw a picture of the boats they saw. By the end of the evening, we had a very charming selection of drawings and also collected a vote for people’s favourite boat. The integrity of this vote was called into question when our commodore received most of the vote, all of them in his handwriting!

June 2024
Halton Fest

This was a two day festival at Heath Park and we put on some events to celebrate.
At the rest of the park, there was (among other things) a funfair, classic cars, and
food stands. For our part, on the Sunday we set out our gazebos with a display of
the boats that our members have made. We also sailed these and invited all the
visitors to have a go with our children
s boats that we keep for the purpose.
Unfortuantely at the moment we do not have any phot's of this event.

This was a one day festival at the park in Hale Village, where we set up a display of boats.
At the rest of the park, there was (among other things) a funfair, classic cars, and
food stands. For our part, on the Saturday we set out our gazebo with a display of
the boats that our members have made. We invited all the

July 2024
Cheshire Steam Fair, Daresbury.

We took a good collection of boats to this show, and also brought a large paddling
pool so that the public could steer some boats around. There was a pair of
controllers mounted to a stand for anyone to come and have a go. This generated a
lot of interest and we also raised some money for the RNLI through a donation tin
that people could donate to if they so chose. As well as the boats for anyone to sail,
we had a static display of other boats including Bert
s incredible 7 foot long aircraft
carrier, a steam launch, and fishing boats. There
s a lot of work that goes into setting
up and taking down for a show like this but the engagement from the public makes it
worth it. Thanks to everyone who helped out over the two days.

November 2024
Autumn night sail

Our popular night sail went ahead in November. We stayed late and sailed as the sun went down.
Everyone had added lights to their boats, creating a lovely display. There was a yacht with its sails impressively outlined with lights and we had a visitor from another club who had party lights shining from his luxury yacht. Others took a simpler approach and carried a set of battery fairy lights, which was a simple way to transform the look of their boat.  The public stopped to admire the sights of the illuminated boats lighting up the pond.
This was also our final show for 2024
